introducing the name of the game: Silt Spawn!

holy moly today's update has so much to share. first, to state the obvious, untitled cave game is no longer untitled! hooray! I've also started on more marketing materials such as screenshots and various assets that could go in a press kit. I don't intend to publish this game outside of itch.io, so I view this more as practice in making marketing materials.

however, I do intend to wrap up a demo version of Silt Spawn by the new year. I hope for there to be up to an hour of gameplay, which should be enough to convey the concept and core mechanics of the game. I am not confident that it would be a great full game, which is why after finishing up the demo, I'll likely move on to another project. but, if it's received well, I'll consider more updates!

next, in the actual gameplay department, I've added silt storms! these are functionally similar to the darkness in Don't Starve, or the rain in Rain World. (both are inspirations in fact.) essentially, as the larger status bar fills up, the screen will begin shaking, and you have to find shelter or else be caught in the storm, which is game over! there are also naturally spawning shelters throughout the map.

along those lines, I've added some "game over" dialogue that progresses after each death. you also keep your tools between lives, which is where the progression system comes from. there is not much in that department functionally right now, but I hope to flesh out the progression very soon!
